In "likening" this morning, I just think how we must strive to use the Savior's light to SEE and we must HEAR.
In John 9:18 it says, "But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight..." They did not believe because they could not (would not) see. Irony.
In v. 27 it says, "He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear..." They did not see and they did not hear.
And then the Savior's pronouncement in v. 41, "ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth." They thought they could see, but they did not open their eyes. They did not allow the Savior to give them their spiritual sight and so their sin remained with them.
I am reading Sis. Pearce's new book (_Through His Eyes_) and it is helping me to SEE. Love it. :)
